Financially that translates into $367 mln of unpaid revenues. A reduction from the 70% level in 2002 to 60% by 2006 will add $2 bln to Indias economy, increase local industry revenues by around $1.6 bln, generate 48,435 new high-tech, high-wage jobs and generate $92.4 mln in tax revenues for the government. By the end of 2005, the worldwide total of these HDTV service households is projected to reach 15.5 mln, reports In-Stat. The rate of growth of HDTV households will continue to be strong over the next several years, and by 2009, HDTV households worldwide are forecasted to reach 52 mln. Im referring both to open source as in free, and open source as in see the source code. The free Web challenges journalism business models as nothing has before. The industry is still reeling. Even when magazines were given away, it was in exchange for detailed information. Publishers bought lists of prospective readers, made their offer by mail, then demanded personal details for subscriptions. The data justified the ad rate. Some newspapers and magazines have been trying this on the Web. Only a few registration-required sites are profitable. Most sites with this business model are still losing money ...
