Flickr Founders Fake & Butterfield Latest To Leave Yahoo
http://searchengineland.com/ 080618-070945.php
Yahoo feels like a nation that won its independence only to see all its leaders immediately flee the country. The latest emigrants: Flickr cofounders Caterina Fake and Stewart Butterfield. Their departure is unlikely to stall Flickr, but it gives a terrible impression of Yahoo as a company in further disarray. Click to continue reading...

More Snow Leopard Screenshots Appear
http://www.appletell.com/ apple/ comment/ more-snow-leopard-screenshots-appear/
Section: Operating Systems, Leopard, OS-X German Apple site Apfeltalk has released new screenshots of Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" onto the internet. Theres not really much to see, but the screenshots offer "photo evidence" of Safari 4s web-application feature, Address Book Exchange Support, and more. While the screenshots dont really show much, as most improvements are under the hood, the shots seem to show that Apple is really on top of Snow Leopards surface features, however limited they may be.

Miss The Google Webmaster Help Group Chat Last Night?
http://searchengineland.com/ 080620-091631.php
Did you miss the Google Webmaster Help Group Chat that took place last night? If you did, no need to worry, I was able to record the audio and export the full Q&A transcript, with well over 300 questions answered by Googlers. You can find the audio recording and downloadable Q&A transcript at the Search Engine Roundtable. Please do note that Google will be attempting to post the official recording, presentations and chat sessions at the Google Groups thread, but until then, you can get the unofficial recording over there. Twitter Blooper? Confess!

Twitter Blooper? Confess!
http://mashable.com/ 2008/ 06/ 22/ twitter-blooper/
I just came within one click of a highly embarrassing Twitter blooper. Its so easily done: miss out the "d" (for Direct Message) at the front of a supposedly private Tweet and BOOM! a few thousand followers get a glimpse of your backchannel chats. With Twitterers increasingly using Twitter DMs to discuss everything from business deals to meetup plans, Twitter messaging has "fire hazard" written all over it. Spellcheckers, too, have some interesting consequences: according to @bookjewel, some Nokia phones correct "plate" to "slave"???as in "Party: bring slave".

Referential Messages: How to Create High-Impact Information that Others Will Want to Share
http://www.doshdosh.com/ how-to-create-high-impact-information-that-others-will-w...
Successful ideas and messages are shared when people are able to relate to it on their own terms, within their existing worldview. Data will remain cold, inert and impersonal unless it is framed in a concrete way that is relevant to the experiences of the recipient. You dont want cold data. You want high-impact information that leaves a strong impression on your audience, so theyll pass it on to others in their network, wholl then do the same. One way of doing that is to create a message using references which are not only easily understandable but inextricably entrenched in the day...

GOOG-411 Goes To Canada

GOOG-411 Goes To Canada
http://mashable.com/ 2008/ 06/ 22/ goog-411-canada/
Its been several months since weve heard much of anything about Googles 411 service. The company has kept somewhat mum about the project. As of December 2007, it was reportedly unprofitable. But hey, maybe thats the cost of going free with information which used to cost callers when seeking phonebook listings. It actually turns out Google has been active on the 411 front since we last spoke of it. What were they up to? Cataloguing Canada, according to Torontos Globe and Mail. It is certainly unfortunate that Canadian consumers are often the people to get the short-ended stick for technology releases.
