The tool works mostly through your native file browser and the command line, but the programs author has created a visual desktop Flickr organizer that links into his app.

Sprint bows out of wireless spectrum joint venture
Sprint sure has been backing out of and sashaying into quite a few deals of late, and the schizophrenic trend is continuing as it opts out of SpectrumCo, one of two joint ventures with cable operators Comcast, Time Warner Cable (parent company of AOL, which owns Engadget), Cox Communications, and
Brighthouse (Advance/Newhouse). Reportedly, the firm is still remaining a part of the Sprint/Cable venture (now known as Pivot) as it focuses on "integrating wireline and wireless services offered by the cable partners with itself." It does seem funny that just last year Greg Winn who is one of the top guys at Telstra the Australian telecommunications company said that Apple could stick their iPhone. Well now it seems that the company has had a change of heart as the Australian release of the iPhone will be this June and looks as though it could be the 3G version of the handset. Although Telstra is the largest phone provider in OZ, it seems as if they will not be the only ones to get the Apple iPhone.

Fresh study (still) finds Diebold e-voting machines hacker-friendly
The fact that some individuals still have any level of faith left in Diebold is quite baffling, but in case you were looking for just one more episode to dash your hopes of a hack-proof voting machine, open wide. As fate would have it, a fresh study in Florida has found that even optical scan voting systems "can be hacked into," which is causing quite a bit of concern considering that touchscreen alternatives arent exactly an option in the Sunshine State. Reportedly, the document noted that "official memory cards in the optical scan machines could easily be exchanged with ones altering the vote count," and it was also stated that Diebold must "deal with the flaws" by August 17th. Yeah, were sure its all over that.

You havent even made it into most peoples hands, and already youre getting dissected and inappropriately inspected. Honestly, we didnt mean for that to rhyme. Regardless, the folks over at bit-tech have gone to all the hassle of cracking the little dude open, though what they find inside is apparently more of the same. No new modules, no fancy layout changes, no tiny army of artificially intelligent lifeforms. Still, its nice to look at.

Leopard qualifies for official UNIX 03 certification
Its no secret that OS X is based on BSD Unix, and it looks like Apple let a little more of those roots shine through with Leopard -- The Open Group has just awarded OS X 10.5 Leopard UNIX 03 certification, meaning that Apple joins Sun, HP, and IBM as the only certified vendors. The spec covers libraries, system calls, terminal interfaces, commands and utilities, internationalization and the C language, meaning that software vendors can easily port server and non-GUI apps to and from OS X with minimal effort. Although this was already mostly the case, its always nice to see the circle complete, isnt it?

Vienna - The Austrian city Graz on Wednesday issued a ban on mobile phone use on public transport. Grazs decision, which is highly controversial in Austria, makes the community the first worldwide to issue such a ban, Austrian media said. Annoyed over the constant buzz and passengers sharing their life secrets on buses and trams in the southern Austrian town, conservative Mayor Siegfried Nagel issued a regulation demanding mobile phones be switched to "silent."
